ABOUT THE PHD COMMUNITY

Hey there! I'm John Hockey, the founder of The PhD Community. I wanted to create something where PhD students from every University from around the world can come together and exchange ideas, ask for help, and support each other. After all, no one knows what you're going through better than another one of your fellow PhD students.

We've got forums, where you can ask any questions that you might not want to ask people at your University or in person, answer other questions, and help each other out. I'm here too - I'm Committed to Empowering ALL PhD Students.

I've been involved with the PhD process for almost 20 years, from hopeful applicant, to PhD student, to recent graduate, to having my own PhD students, to designing PhD programs around the world.

After finishing my PhD, I worked around the world at internationally acclaimed Universities. I have had PhD students from all different countries, and backgrounds, and successfully advised them to completion - so, I know what you're going through. Along with you all supporting each other, I want to share my experiences and advice on how to get through the process. Or you can just use the forums to wind down with a laugh.
